I wanted to share a story about one of your capes that has become incredibly special to my family.

Last holiday season, as I was searching for a unique gift for my then 3-year-old son, I intentionally sought out small businesses and non-toxic toy options. Knowing how much he loved dressing up and pretending, I was looking for a high-quality, imaginative costume that would grow with him and spark his creativity. That's when I discovered Creative Capes through a blog post, and I was immediately drawn to the customizable, handmade quality and safe materials. It felt truly unique, especially since it was going to be a gift "from Santa."

He absolutely loved his superhero "N" cape on Christmas morning. He wore it to Christmas dinner and for all of our family photos—those pictures are now incredibly dear to us, as our lives took an unexpected turn just twelve days later.

On January 7th, we were forced to evacuate our home due to the Eaton Canyon fire in Altadena. Waking up to smoke around 3 AM, we left with our three-year-old, three-month-old, and two dogs, not knowing it would be the last time we were all in our home together.

While my husband focused on grabbing necessities and irreplaceable items during a brief return, it’s hard to explain how much a child’s entire room, filled with new holiday gifts and memories from birth, feels irreplaceable. It felt like my son’s whole childhood was wrapped up in that room and now gone. Despite the immense loss, he remained incredibly strong for months, asking questions but not crying about the house or his toys. His resilience was truly inspiring and helped us get through each day.

Among the few items my husband was able to save was his Creative Cape and one matching armband. This cape quickly became a powerful symbol for us. He continued to wear his gift from Santa, unknowingly showing us what a brave superhero he is.

Months later, at summer camp during a "Monsters vs. Heroes" theme day, he wore his cape and felt so special, receiving many compliments because no one else had anything like it.
