Collingswood, NJ Crafts and Fine Arts Festival

Booth Photo

Great to be featured in a news article from the Crafts and Fine Arts Festival in Collingswood, NJ!

"Another booth selling dog friendly items included Creative Capes, who specialize in both human and four-legged friend capes. Run out of Maryland by Holly, Creative Capes has participated in the Collingswood show before and goes all over the tri-state area, mostly doing shows in New York and Pennsylvania.

'The concept is for kids to become their own superhero, but we also have more popular superhero capes,' said Holly as she was carefully organizing a set of custom superman capes.

The Capes, which are handmade by Holly in Maryland range from capes with an initial cap on the back, to the all-popular Superman and Elsa type capes. Holly also sells hand made accessories, including masks, wrist cuffs, belts, and shields to go along with each cape, and make the perfect costume."

The Power of Imagination

The Power of Imagination

As an adult, I had forgotten what it was like to be a child and have the power of imagination with no boundaries. It was such a touching moment the first time the boys put on their capes and masks, they ran in circles for 20 minutes truely believing they were appointed to save the world. I absolutely love the change that takes place the minute you give them the ability to be something other than just an ordinary 4 year old that needs a nap.

My two nieces are now begging for superhero capes of their own so we can have a full-on superhero team (and the oldest is almost 9 so they transend age)! I was also honestly shocked at how well made and durable the capes are after rolling around on concrete and through a field for our photo shoot! They are not only great for encouraging my kids to use their imagination but something that they will be able to pass down to their children one day.

Thank you so much for your creativity, craftsmanship and the added magic that comes with each cape. – Mindy Guy

Gymboree's Superhero themed prom gets some help from Creative Capes

Creative Capes helped Gymboree in New York pull off an unforgettable superhero prom event for pint-size superheroes. According to Creative Capes’ founder, Holly, “Something as simple as a cape has the power to positively affect a child’s self-esteem.”  And it’s true!  I got to watch the transformation right before my very eyes at Gymboree’s Superhero themed prom! Read Fab Gab Blog to learn about the event and see more pictures.

Macy's Video Seeing Parents thru Kids Eyes

Kids think the world of their parents. Here is a cute video by Macy of one child's vision of her mom as a superhero. Creative Capes believes we all have a hero within us regardless of our age, sometimes we just need a cape to discover it!

Every School Staff Member is a Superhero!

Every School Staff Member is a Superhero!

Creative Capes is a huge fan of teachers and all the staff members that make our schools a nurturing and safe place to learn. When approached by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) of a local middle school, Creative Capes jumped at the opportunity to help out. The PTSA wanted to celebrate and treat the staff at Thomas Viaduct Middle School in ways that would allow them to share their “Super Powers” and inspire the students to explore the superhero within every individual. Childhood Memories Enhanced with Creative Capes

Creative Capes on the BeachThese capes are the coolest capes my husband and I have ever seen! Not to mention our boys are absolutely obsessed with them! We went out to the beach and they had to take them. I can't even count how many people complimented them and asked us where we got them. -Jessica Parks
